We had a great mellow but really fun party for Kellen today with dear friends and family, baby friends and alike.
Here are some pic-highlights...Baby Oscar giving his friend Aidan a hug (Aidan loved it as he loves children); and all the kiddos hanging and parallel playing as Anneliese put it...so cute...
Kellen loved the cake as his face shows...
And having family and friends here in the city was just so special.
The cake was rich, wonderful, chocolate-y from a bakery nearby...
And Kellen was a trouper through it all including the melee of presents, which Aidan mc'ed, but which got a little confusing since Kellen really just wanted to PLAY with stuff rather than GET it...if that makes sense...
THANK YOU to everyone who came and made the day extra special and to all the special babies: Ellie Mae and Oscar and the big kids, Katie and Megan, and, of course, to a very special boy, Aidan who always makes the lives of those around him more bright--with his energy, enthusiasm, and love!
As for Kellen, he seemed to love it--to be utterly in the moment of all the surprises--from picking up the balloons to greeting and loving all his guests big and small.
Happy December everyone. It is my season of love and brightness, the month when both my boys were born, a special, special time as the light shrinks. I always think of December as a season of hope: amid the darkness, thousands of twinkling lights, white and colors...rainbows and stars.
